As their name suggests, mailing envelopes are a very broad category that consist of catalog envelopes, booklet envelopes and standard white envelopes. They are general envelopes and consequently very much in demand. At Print E-Z, we try our level best to provide variety to the seemingly mundane, which is why all three kinds of envelopes are available in different materials, sizes and even colors.
Our first mentioned category, the catalog envelope’s distinguishing feature is that it opens on the top or its shortest dimension. These envelopes are usually open-end envelopes with wallet flaps and center seams, and are used for holding magazines, reports, catalogs, and other heavyweight materials. Many times, on the request of customers, we have added lining inside catalog envelopes to maximize their security as well as protective ability. These do come with windows – on custom demand, but are generally without them.
Booklet envelopes usually match an enclosure such as an annual report, a brochure or maybe some sales literature. They are also used for volume mailings and direct mail. It is easy to recognize a booklet envelope – they have a wallet flap which opens on the long dimension. It is also their differentiating characteristic from a catalog envelope. They are also available in a wide variety of premium text grades and colors.
